Foaming Bath Butter is a wonderful new
unique product, and is the latest in cream soap technology. This versatile new
base can be formulated into many different finished products and is the newest
innovation in the personal care industry! This luxurious,
creamy cleansing product has the consistency of butter
and has some unique uses:
- Moisturizing Body Cleanser
- Shave Cream
- Sugar Scrubs
- Salt Scrubs
- Body Meringues
- Body Parfaits
- Exfoliating Scrubs
Foaming Bath Butter can be processed in
different ways, but we prefer whipping it with a double bladed electric mixer. As it is
whipped, the volume will increase. We suggest whipping it until the volume of
the butter has doubled. Over whipping to 3 to 4 times its volume will cause the
Foaming Bath Butter to collapse. As you begin to whip the butter, you can add
additional ingredients. You must add your ingredients BEFORE you finish
whipping the product or it will collapse. You must also whip not less than 2 1/2
pounds per batch, as there must be enough butter to fill the mixing bowl. Do NOT
use a single blade mixer, you must use a double beater type mixer as the more
air that's incorporated, the fluffier the mixture will be. You cannot add any
ingredients after the mixture has "set up" or it will collapse.
-
Sweet Almond Oil - We found that
adding 2 oz Sweet Almond Oil per pound of Foaming Bath Butter made the
product more moisturizing for facial scrubs and .
- Sugar or
Salt - Add your sugar or salt to the
point of saturation. Once saturation has been reached, the additional sugar
or salt added will remain in crystal form and act as an exfoliater.
-
Fragrance - Foaming Bath Butter will accept up to 5% fragrance or
essential oils. We recommend usage levels of 2-3%.
- Colors - Use our
Soap color dyes to achieve the colors you desire for parfaits.
- Jojoba
Beads - We found that by adding jojoba beads to uncolored whipped
Foaming Bath Butter, we were able to produce a visually pleasing product
that had the consistency of icing with dots of color in it.
If you prefer the more solid consistency of
the Foaming Bath Butter, you can heat it in a double boiler. Microwaving is
not recommended. You must control the temperature of your double boiler so
that is does not exceed 150 or the product will be ruined.
- When product is fully melted, begin
gentle agitation.
- Begin adding color or other additives
- Continue mixing
- Begin cooling to 120
- Add fragrance and continue mixing
- Once the fragrance is fully
incorporated, begin pouring into your desired containers.
